The Encinitan

The views from this hotel are beautiful. The rooms are large to accommodate families, and the bathrooms updated. The continental breakfast offers eggs, sausage, bagels, muffins, waffles (precooked), yogurt, bananas, apples, toast, and cereal as well as juices and coffee. It was nice to be able to eat breakfast inside the pool house or outdoors by the pool. Easy walk to downtown encinitas and to the beach. The staff was super helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

Fabulous location and view Balconies with sliding doors that open! Well lit property, including the parking lot Great afternoon staff! I did not meet the morning staff Only cons are the traffic on Encinitas Boulevard can be hairy, the shower water pressure is horrible-plan on being in there twice as long-and no real breakfast. At least they offer a continental breakfast..better than nothing. Nice place!

This is one of the best hotels with a great ocean view. They gave us the third floor with a full ocean view room. The hotel and the rooms were remodeled. And the balcony is the best part of the room, you can see the sunset (if there are no clouds) from the balcony chair. The breakfast was good, I didn't use it but there is a gym and the pool. The beach is less than five minutes drive or you can walk in 10 minutes.

Great front desk staff. He was super helpful, professional and polite. We're looking for a nice, centrally located, affordable hotel for my son's out of town wedding party. It's kinda of a motel/hotel blend. Rooms and property in general look great. Well maintained. By the train station, beach, and center of Encinitas. Comes with breakfast and kitchenettes. Has a nice pool and solid parking. We'll definitely check into rates and packages for a block of rooms!

Absolutely loved this hotel!! Perfect location, not too close or far from the water. Clean rooms and hotel overall(I believe it was just updated and switched from a best western) the rooms are accessible from outside but the way the hotel is situated and up in a hill, I didn’t mind at all. The balconies are great, we had a nice view! Pool and jacuzzi are great, area is clean and towels are supplied. Breakfast was a good variety, pleased with it. Friendly and helpful staff! We will probably stay here every time we go to Cardiff state beach. It’s very family friendly and accommodating. They’re in the process of opening a restaurant across from the entrance so excited for that thank you for a great stay

View can not be beat. Rooms are spacious and well decorated. Older hotel with lots of charm but with modern updates. I love that is not carpet. Wood floors have been down now for about 4 yrs and look great. I stay ad often as I can

We had such a wonderful stay at The Encinitian! From the moment we checked in, Michelle went above and beyond to make our experience special. We mentioned it was our honeymoon, and she made sure we had a beautiful room—we felt so cared for and celebrated. Michelle is one of those rare people who radiates kindness and warmth, and it truly made our stay unforgettable. The room itself was spotless, comfortable, and perfect for our trip. Every staff member we interacted with was equally welcoming and attentive. It’s not every day you come across such genuine hospitality, and we are so grateful. We’d absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend The Encinitian to anyone visiting Encinitas.

Ocean view balcony is a ways from the beach but nice. Room is pretty basic but nice. Free breakfast was better than most contenentals, well stocked and monitored. Free parking was great. Free WiFi was great. Bed was first rate! Bathroom was sparce but very useable, low water pressure. The grounds are very nice along with pool and jacuzzi. Price was great, I’ll be back! Lots of places near by for food and everything else!
